Who Are We and What Do We Do?
The British Psychological Society's Psychological Testing Centre (PTC) provides a focus for all Society activities in relation to psychological testing. Through the PTC, the British Psychological Society (BPS) provides nationally recognised qualifications in test use, and provides independent reviews of psychological tests used in occupational and educational settings.
The PTC website provides access to information about tests and testing. Whether you are a psychologist, a test user or a member of the public interested in knowing more about testing, the PTC website is a valuable resource.
The Committee on Test Standards (CTS), operating under the aegis of the Society’s Membership Standards Board (MSB), has for several decades been leading initiatives to promote high technical standards in the design and development of tests and their use by psychologists and non-psychologists alike. These include the development of competence-based test user certification and of test reviews and test registration.
The Psychological Testing Centre was formed to support the work of the CTS by managing the dissemination of information on standards relating to psychological tests and testing. This includes information on qualifications in test use, the publication of Assessment & Development Matters, tests reviews, test registration and the publishing and dissemination of advisory statements, in addition to guidelines and other literature on standards for the construction, use and availability of tests. The PTC also manages the procedures for the verification of Society accredited Assessors for the various qualifications in test use.

Mala Pancholi - Assistant Manager (responsibility for co-ordinating the verification process, providing administrative support and advice to committees, responsibility for the Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU)
Ayshea King- Project Officer (responsibility for the test registration and review process, online directories, undertaking marketing and promotional activity and coordinating advertising in Assessment & Development Matters magazine. Ayshea undertakes projects in conjunction with the PTC Manager)
Julie Hubble - PTC Administrator (responsibility for processing test users' certificates of registration, entries on to the Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU), and customer service on the phone and email.)
