General Description of Test:The HJ17 provides comparative scores on 17 behaviourally observable dimensions of personality together with scores on five broader, more inclusive factors, type indicator scores, a score for innovative style and Belbin’s nine Team Roles. The 17 dimensions are: (1) Supportive – Dominant (2) Sharing – Persuasive (3) Hard Nosed – Considerate (4) Group Minded – Self Reliant (5) Diffident – Self Assured (6) Easy Going – Alert (7) Conventional – Open minded (8) Action Orientated – Reflective (9) Implementer – Innovator (10) Commercial Skill Builder – Commercial Opportunist (11) People Orientated – Technically Minded (12) Responsive – Organised (13) Detail Averse – Precise (14) Content – Ambitious (15) Balanced – Determined (16) Hesitant – Decisive (17) Expressive – Resilient The second-order factors are: (1) Friendly contentment – Forceful ambition (2) Action – Deliberation (3) Inner driven, expressive – Accommodating, calm (4) People minded – Self sufficient, rational (5) Consolidator – Entrepreneur The scores generate profiles on a ‘pre-formed’ chart. The instrument is designed for use in managerial, sales, professional, technical supervisory and graduate roles.
