Summary of Test Review
General description of Test
The Cubiks Logiks assessment is a set of cognitive ability tests. The suite includes five assessments: Logiks General, Logiks General (Advanced), Logiks Verbal, Numerical and Abstract (Advanced). The current review concerns only the Logiks General component.
Logiks General is a short measure of cognitive ability designed for occupational use in medium level jobs. It can be used for a broad range of people from general school leavers through to those in lower managerial grades. The test has three sub-sections measuring verbal (24 items), numerical (16 items) and abstract reasoning (10 items) and is tightly timed. Actual test completion is 4 minutes per section although more time is required for reading instructions and completing example questions. The verbal and numerical subtests include a variety of item types including analogies and syllogisms for the verbal subtest, and number and word problems for the numerical subtest. The abstract subtest consists of sequencing questions.
The test is administered on-line and uses an item banking approach to generate multiple equivalent forms to support unsupervised administration. (A single supervised form of the test is also available.) Scoring is automatic, based on the number of correct responses. As well as a total score, measures of speed and accuracy are provided, and sub scores for the three sections. An individual computer generated report provides percentiles for the total score, speed and accuracy with an additional band-based interpretation. It also shows detailed information about performance on each of the subtests. A group report is also available listing the main results for multiple candidates.
Global, Regional and local UK norms are available. The test was designed from the outset for international use and is available in a number of different languages including Chinese (Simplified), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (UK), English (US), Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Indonesian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Portuguese (EU), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (EU), Swedish and Vietnamese.
