General Description of Test: | The MGIB comprises three sets of tests with each set containing a numerical critical reasoning and a verbal critical reasoning test. The numerical tests (NMG1 to NMG4 and NMG2004) require the candidate to find and interpret data contained in tables and graphs. The verbal tests (VMG1 to VMG4 and VMG2004) contain short text passages followed by statements. The candidate has to decide whether a statement is true (follows logically from the passage), false (does not follow logically) or there is insufficient or no information given in the passage upon which to base a judgement (i. e. a 'cannot tell' response is selected). The tests were originally designed to replace the Advanced Test Battery (ATB) due to overexposure of this battery in the recruitment of graduates. The MGIB is also intended for use in the appointment of managers and professional staff. |
